Select active plans in Yolean 3.8

In Yolean 3.8 we enabled project and line manegers to select the active projects they are currently working on. Here is how you do that.

Why

We did this for a number of reasons

  • A team is most likely to only be working on a few of all the projects that are ongoing in the entire organisation.
  • Reducing the number of projects means reducing clutter so that the team can work more efficient.
  • This also allowed us to give a better user experience to users that wanted to select a project when creating notes form a line-meeting (Workload) board.
  • Some teams wanted the ability to specify each project by a nickname (i.e. like a shorter title of a long project name) and even color code the notes differently depending on the project they are from

How

This is how you do it in the following types of board

Portfolio board

  1. Open up the filter menu i the uppel left corner
  2. Press the small edit button
  3. Click on each project you want to include on your board
  4. Click done

Now you will se that each project will have their own row

Workload board

  1. Open up the filter menu i the middle of the board
  2. Press the small edit button
  3. Click on each project you want to include on your board
  4. Click done

Now...

  • If you click here again you will se that these projects are included in this board
  • If you click any project you will see all the other projects fade out (premium feature)
  • When you create a new note you can click the top bar and select any of these projects that this note belongs to

To edit the titles and colors (premium feature)

  1. Press the edit pen icon beside the project title
  2. Enter a custom name (this will not override the project name. It will only show this as the nickname on this board)
  3. Click on any color if wanted
  4. Press done

Updates will now be visible on the board
